Our Story - Getting It Done
Russell Landscaping was originally founded in 1980 and ran smoothly until 1993, when the owner at the time, Chuck Russell, decided to migrate his efforts into the waste disposal business, creating Russell Disposal.
After many summers of hard work in the family business and working in landscaping on the side, Chuck’s nephew, Joe Russell, decided to pursue one of his many passions to reopen Russell Landscaping. Joe saw a lack of focus on customer service in the industry’s other local providers and became dedicated to providing landscape maintenance services in Wilmington that go above and beyond each time. We strive to create a great experience for every customer, which is why “Getting It Done” is our motto. Our number one priority is ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget, so you can have a great experience working with us.
Today, Russell Landscaping has grown from just a guy borrowing his dad’s lawnmower to a family-run company with an ever-growing team! We have a fleet of trucks including pickup trucks, CDL dump trucks, skid steers, excavators, and more; and utilize a wide range of the best lawn maintenance equipment on the market. Not to mention the more than 1,000 clients that we have had the pleasure of working with over the last few years.

Meet Our Team
Joe Russell - President
In addition to his love for the outdoors, Joe has many passions. He works at the Wilmington Fire Department full-time with a great group of people and friends. Outside of work, he loves to go snowmobiling during the winter months with his friends and family. Joe and his wife love to tend to their family of animals at home, which includes their black lab(Gunnar), two cats (Mozzi and Rollo), two rabbits (Ollie and Beans), and their flock of 11 chickens.
Cole Russell- Operations Manager
Cole Russell not only helps run the training programs here at Russell Landscaping but also oversees everyday operations and more. He has always been the type of guy who just can’t sit still — if Cole isn’t on a job running machinery or driving trucks, you’ll have a hard time finding him because he’s most likely exploring in the woods somewhere. In his free time, Cole enjoys hiking, camping, and hunting, and is also an avid powersports lover — he enjoys anything from ATVs to dirt bikes to snowmobiles, boats, and many more. Just remember, if it has an engine, Cole is interested.
Andy - General Manager
During the workday, Andy takes tremendous pride in the work he does, and many Russell Landscaping clients have a difficult time believing how high his quality standards are. In his free time, Andy loves to take trips all over the country and explore different states and interesting places. While still a young man, Andy has gathered many stories from his travels! One of the many reasons Andy travels is that he enjoys the fun adventures each place has to offer.
